Dear Sir:

As discussed in Reference 1, the Authority's original re-sponse (Reference 2) to NRC Bulletin 80-16 stated that seventy-six (76) pressure transmitters stored in the ware-house for the Analog Trip Transmitter System required cor-rective action prior to use in safety systems.

The Authority has since informed Mr.

L.

Doerflein of the Resident Inspector's Office that it is now the Authority's intention to dispose of these transmitters and buy fully qualified replacement transmitters, because they do not meet environmental qualification requirements for new safety-related equipment.

Quality control hold tags will be in-stalled on all of these transmitters in storage pending final disposition.
