As we have discussed previously, the presentation to tne Advisory Committee on Heactor Safeguards ( ACHS) and the IJSNHC statt now'scheduied l

for March 7,1997, will cover the results of the committee's phase 2 orrorts as documented in the final report that you have roccived The i

presentation will be led by the chairman, Douglas Chapin. I nc entire 14-member committee will ba inv,ted to attend both presentationc l

However, being volunteers with very demanding schedules. I cannot guarantee that all or any indivirtual member (other than the chair) will

= be able to attend.

As for participation, the planned format will involve Dr. Chapin leading the presentation and then directing the ensuing questions to individual l

committee members as appropnate. Ihe " committee's" answers to questions -
