Dear Mr. Thomas:

The Board of Belectmen of west Newbury has reviewud its previous grant of permission to you to install five. siren poles on property owned by the Town of West Newbury.

We have concluded that this board did not have the authority to grant your petitions for the pole locations and that your reliance on Ch.spter 166 of the General Laws in presenting your petitions was misplaced.

Further, the procedural requirements of Chapter 144 were not followed.

Therefore, our granting of the petitions was invahid.

We accord-ingly require that the poles be removed within th!.rty days of the date of this letter.

We will take such addit!.onal steps as are necessary to obtaih their removal if this request

• 1s'not met.

We regret any inconvenience the removal of the poles will cause you.

Please advise in writing as to when the removals will be accomplished.
