Mr. C. K. Chen, through the International Atomic Energy Agency fellowship, is currently under training in the Division of Inspection Programs at the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Comission. As part of our training program designed for Mr. Chen, we. feel that it would be beneficial for him to attend the 8th International Conference on NDE in the Nuclear Industry which will be held in Orlando, Florida, November 17-20, 1986. As you may see from the enclosed conference program, Mr. Chen will have the opportunity to learn not only the background information, but also the worldwide valuable experiences in applying NDE technology-to in-service-inspections to ensure the safe operation of nuclear power plants.

Dear Mrs. Ferguson:

Mr. C. Please coordinate Mr. Chen's travel expenses in regard to attending this conference. We will coordinate the rest of his travel needs. If you have any questions concerning this conference, please do not hesitate to contact Dr. Daul Wu of the Division of Inspection Programs ((301) 492-8706). Sincerely, Ronald D. Hauber, Assistant Director for International Cooperation Office of Internation Programs
