REPORT N0. 86-01 AND NOTICE OF VIOLATION As a result of inspection activities conducted by NRC during August and September 1986, it has been determined that activities you conducted during July 1986 resulted in a violation of NRC requirements.
The inspection indicated that you purchased a Troxler moisture density gauge, Serial No. 4029, from the U. S. General Services Administration, Franconia, Virginia, on July 24, 1986.
It is our further understanding that you have in turn sold this gauge to an authorized NRC licensee.
10 CFR 30.3 requires in part that no person shall receive, acquire, own, or possess byproduct material except as authorized in a specific license.
Contrary to the above, a violation of this code section is noted above. As this material is now in the possession of a licensee, no reply is necessary to this Notice of Violation; however, you mast realize that you were in violation and cannot repeat this type of transaction unless you become licensed by the NRC.
