Ferkile:
Enclosed is an application (XSNM3829), dated May 23, 2022, received by the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission, from Westinghouse Electric Company, LLC. The application requests the export of low-enriched uranium to any civilian nuclear power plant operating in the United Kingdom (UK), or in an EURATOM member country for fuel fabrication. Part of the enriched fabricated fuel will be subsequently returned to the United States for use in nuclear power reactors and the remaining fuel will be fabricated into fuel assemblies and used in civilian nuclear reactors within the UK and/or EURATOM member countries.
Before taking action on this application, we request your assistance in obtaining the necessary assurances from the United Kingdom and/or EURATOM that the material will be subject to all of the terms and conditions of the agreements for cooperation.
