Also with me will be Justin Raudabaugh and Paul Startz, who will be performing a transportation inspection using IP 86740, Inspection of Transportation Activities.

Experience has shown that these inspections are resource intensive both for the NRC inspectors and your staff. In order to minimize the impact to your onsite resources and to conduct a productive inspection, I have attached a request for documents needed for this inspection. It is important that all of these documents are up to date, complete, and ready for the inspectors upon arrival at the facility. Please also let us know if we need to complete any site access training or take other actions to get onsite.

If possible, an entrance meeting should be scheduled for 14:00 on Monday. Id also like to schedule an exit meeting for Thursday at 16:00. Drawings/manufacturers specifications for the transportation packages, limited to top tier drawings, please provide large size drawings, these documents can be provided during the inspection f.

Manifests and records for shipments over the last 2 years for each type of package used for each shipment, this request is limited to 3 samples for each type of package over the last 2 years g.

List of condition reports since the last TRANS inspection pertaining to radioactive material (RAM) shipment and transportation activities h.

Any independent audits or assessments of the RAM transportation program (e.g., audit reports, QA surveillances) since the last TRANS inspection i.

List of any 71.95 reports since the last TRANS inspection; and discussion of any that are in progress, or planned for the near future (the next 90 days), these documents can be provided during the inspection j.

Qualification plans and required training lists for individuals responsible for RAM shipping and transportation, these documents can be provided during the inspection week

Inspection checklist for the last outgoing RAM shipments include contents of the package, to include weight, isotope, and physical form, limited to 2 samples of each type of package l.

Radiological survey records for the packages for the last two shipments of each type as well as the survey records for the (outgoing) delivery vehicle

m. Receipt inspections/surveys for the packages for the last two shipments of each type and the (incoming) delivery vehicle n.
