OF THE JUNE 12, 2024, PUBLIC OUTREACH TO DISCUSS THE NRC 2023 END-OF-CYCLE PLANT PERFORMANCE ASSESSMENT OF BYRON STATION, UNITS 1 AND 2 On June 12, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. (CDT), an information meeting with a question-and-answer session was held by representatives of the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) to provide the public with information on the 2023 End-of-Cycle plant performance assessment of Byron Station, Units 1 and 2, along with general information on the NRC. The open house was held at the Byron Community Room in Byron, Illinois.
The NRC was prepared to discuss their assessment of Byron Station, as documented in the February 28, 2024, End-of-Cycle Assessment Letter (ADAMS Accession Number ML24059A030) during the public outreach. The NRC had various resources available to potential attendees, such as the assessment letter, inspection reports, fact sheets and brochures, and other public documents.
