Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation Items of Interest Week Ending January 5, 2024 Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulations (NRR) Vogtle Project Office (VPO) Dissolved and All VPO Staff have Transitioned into Other Roles within NRR As of December 31, 2023, the NRR VPO dissolved. All VPO staff have transitioned into other roles within NRR; however, they remain available for any regulatory actions that may be needed for Vogtle Unit 4 to complete startup testing and start commercial operation.
NRR and Regional Staff Attended the 2024 International Information System on Occupational Exposure (ISOE) as Low as Reasonable Achievable (ALARA) Symposium From January 3-5, 2024, NRR and regional staff attended the 2024 ISOE ALARA Symposium held in Clearwater, FL. The staff made presentations on radiation protection related topics including analyzing occupational dosimetry data and radiation monitor calibration as well as ALARA related inspection findings, violations, and observations. Attendees provided positive feedback on the staffs presentations and expressed their appreciation of the staffs participation in this symposium.
