==Dear Colorado State Historic Preservation Officer:==

I am writing to inform you that the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) is evaluating a Long-term Surveillance Plan (LTSP) for the Hecla Uranium Recovery Durita Site former uranium mill tailings site located in Montrose County, Colorado . The staff evaluated the activities associated with the plan which does not include any land disturbance.
The NRC staff determined that, in accordance with the implementing regulation for the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA), 36 CFR 800.3(a)(1) - No potential to cause effects, the undertaking is a type of activity that does not have the potential to cause effects to historic properties, assuming such historic properties were present.
The NRC staff contacted seven Tribes with current or historic ties to the project area explaining its determination. Based on the above information, the NRC has completed its obligation under the NHPA. If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to contact me at this email address or at 301-415-7674.
