Enclosed is an application (XSNM3823), dated July 22, 2021, received by the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), from Edlow International Company. The application requests the export of 60.50 kilograms of uranium enriched up to 19.95 WGT% in uranium-235 (up to 12.07 kg U-235) in the form of metal pieces to Argentina. The material will be fabricated into fuel and targets for medical isotope production and then used in the Comision Nacional de Energia Atomica research reactors RA-3 and RA-6 in Argentina.
Assurances from Argentina that the material will be subject to the terms of the Agreement for Cooperation are required. Your assistance in obtaining the necessary assurances will be appreciated.
