SUBJECT: TERMINATION OF NRC RADIOACTIVE MATERIALS LICENSE NO. 50-23255-02
Dear Mr. Lockwood,
By email dated January 5, 2021, you informed the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC)
that you wished to terminate your NRC radioactive materials license. On the NRC Form 314
dated December 29, 2020, you stated that all radioactive material was sold as reported on your
4th Quarter distribution report required by 10 CFR 32.52.
The NRC conducted a remote inspection on January 13-27, 2021 with you and reviewed the
4th Quarter distribution report required by 10 CFR 32.52. Additionally, we reviewed the
supporting statements and documentation submitted with the signed NRC Form 314, which
stated that licensed activities had ceased and listed on line item No. 2: A radiation survey is not
required as only sealed sources were ever possessed under this license, that no
leaking sources were ever identified, and that all radioactive material had been sold.
Based on the documentation submitted and a review of your historical file, the staff concluded
that NRC license number 50-23255-02 can be terminated. Based on the documentation
submitted and a review of your historical file, the staff concluded that all licensable radioactive
material has been sold. Therefore, the facility located at 411 East 54th Avenue, Anchorage,
Alaska, is recommended released for public access, is suitable for unrestricted use in
accordance with 10 CFR 20.1402, "Radiological Criteria for Unrestricted Use." Based on these
conclusions, no further remediation or actions with respect to NRC regulated material is
required and the NRC radioactive material license for Consolidated Electric Distributors, Inc.
dba Stusser Electric Company is terminated.
Please find enclosed Amendment No. 5 to License No. 50-23255-02 authorizing your license
termination. An environmental assessment for this action is not required since this action is
categorically excluded under 10 CFR 51.22.
 
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.390 of the NRCs Rules of Practice, a copy of this letter and its
enclosure will be available electronically for public inspection in the NRC Public Document
Room or from the NRCs document system (ADAMS). ADAMS is accessible from the NRC
Web site at https://www.nrc.gov/reading-rm/adams.html.
