{{#Wiki_filter:RESOURCE ESTIMATES The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff recommends that the Commission authorize the staff to proceed with publication of the NuScale Small Modular Reactor Design Certification proposed rule. This rulemaking is designated as a high-priority rulemaking in accordance with the common prioritization of rulemaking. The total estimated resources to complete the rulemaking is 3.9 full-time equivalents (FTE). Funding in the New Reactors business line was provided for fiscal year (FY) 2019 and FY 2020. Resources for this rulemaking are included in the FY 2021 Presidents Budget. The staff expects to complete this rulemaking in FY 2021 and has not requested resources beyond FY 2021. The NRC staff will address resources beyond FY 2021, if needed, through the planning, budget, and performance management process and will prioritize these activities in a manner consistent with the current common prioritization of rulemaking process and other priorities in the New Reactors business line.
