Dear Sir:

1 The Susquehanna Valley Alliance urges you to request the 1 Nuclear Regulatory Commission to hold public hearings (of which the State of Pennsylvania should be a party) to review the range of generic flaws, including the containment problems of the Peach Bottom reactors, in addition to its mismanagement problems, prior to any restert of the reactors. We believe the public is not being told the complete truth about the Peach Bottom incident or history. }

We urge your insistance that the plant remain shut down until such investigation is completed, all structural and mechanical flaws are corrected, and all management protocols are improved beyond doubt.

Hundreds of thousands of Pennsyvlania residents are a risk of catastrophic injury, death and destruction of property posed by this facility.

The Susquehanna Valley Alliance is part of a network of groups in the Susquehanna River area who are concerned with civic, environmental and consitutional questions about the nuclear technology. We are working together with our Maryland neighbors who have sent letters similar to this one to officials there, resulting in a joint appeal to the NRC from those officials. Please let us know how we may assist ,

you in the implementation of our request.

Thank you for your concern and action to help prevent a local Chernobyl!

Respectfully, e
