Regulatory Issue Summary (RIS) 2011-13, "Follow Up to Generic Letter 96-05 for Evaluation of Class "D" Valves Under Joint Owners Group Motor-Operated Valve Periodic Verification Program," issued January 6, 2012 The Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) has identified a small number of Joint Owners Group (JOG) Class "D" Motor-Operated Valves (MOVs) installed at Browns Ferry Nuclear Plant (BFN), | |||
Units 1, 2, and 3, that will not have the required modifications completed by September 25, 2012, to allow their classification as Class "A" or Class "B" JOG valves. | |||
The TVA is continuing to review the valves included in the BFN JOG MOV program and will provide the NRC with updated information by December 14, 2012, a date corresponding to 19 days after the scheduled completion of the BFN Unit 1 outage.
