Proposed Approach for Staff Review of Plant Specific Modelling of Generation-III Shutdown Seals in License Amendment Requests (LARS)

Generation III Shutdown Seals (GIII-SDS) Modeled in PRA(s)

Used to Support LAR Case 1 (Consistent with review of peer-reviewed PRA)

Verify and review that the licensee:

1. Provided finding level F&Os and Was the GIII-SDS model in Y their resolution AND the PRA peer-reviewed? 2. Described how the staff SE on GIII-SDS is met, all the limitations and conditions (L&Cs) therein are satisfied, and justified any deviations.

N Licensee chooses to not Y credit the GIII-SDS in the LAR? Case 2 Verify and review that the licensee:

1. Demonstrated on the docket (via sensitivity) that the removal of credit for GIII-SDS does not affect the N decision and insights.

2. Clarifies when, and if, the credit will be used.

Did GIII-SDS modeling use a Y Case 3 peer-reviewed WOG-2000 Verify and review that the licensee:

model as foundation? 1. Demonstrated (on a plant-specific OR generic basis) why inclusion of GIII-SDS is N not a PRA upgrade.
