SUBJECT:
NOMINATION OF PAUL F. PRESCOTT AS AN ALTERNATE TO THE COMMITTEE ON NUCLEAR CERTIFICATION
Dear Mr. Stevenson:
I would like to nominate Mr. Paul F. Prescott as the authorized Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) alternate representative on the Committee on Nuclear Certification (CNC), which reports to the Board of Conformity Assessment. Mr. Prescott is currently a Senior Reactor Operations Engineer in the Office of New Reactors and is responsible for quality assurance reviews and inspections of nuclear vendors and applicants for new reactor licenses and design certifications.
Mr. Prescott is replacing Ms. Kerri Kavanagh, who is replacing Mr. Richard McIntyre as the NRC representative in CNC.
In accordance with the Office of Management and Budget Circular A-119, Federal Participation in the Development and Use of Voluntary Consensus Standards and in Conformity Assessment Activities, February 19, 1998, the participation on a committee of an NRC-authorized representative does not connote agency agreement with, or endorsement of, decisions reached by the committee, or of standards approved and published as a result of the committees efforts.
Agency representatives participating on standards developing groups will, to the extent possible, ascertain the views of the agency on matters of interest and will express views that are consistent with established agency views.
