PALISADES SHUTDOWN DUE TO LOW STEAM GENERATOR LEVEL (UPDATE)
DESCRIPTION:
On May 14, 2007, the Palisades plant resumed operation after a maintenance outage that wasstarted following an automatic trip of the reactor on May 8. The reactor was made critical at approximately 4:00 a.m. and the main generator was synchronized to the grid around noon.
The licensee replaced two control rod drive seals and the upper shaft of a service water pump during the outage.The resident inspectors observed the licensee returning the plant to operation.
The State of Michigan will be notified. The information in this preliminary notification has beenreviewed with licensee management.This information is current as of 1:00 p.m. (EDT) on May 14, 2007.
