On November 7, 2018, the NRC published a direct final rule in the Federal Register (82 FR 55601) amending its spent fuel storage regulations by revising the TN Americas LLC Standardized NUHOMS System listing within the "List of approved spent fuel storage casks" to include Renewed Amendment No. 15 to Certificate of Compliance No. 1004. Renewed Amendment No. 15 revises the Certificate of Compliance's technical specifications. Additionally, the rulemaking makes clarifications to rule text related to Certificate of Compliance No. 1004 by removing redundant language.
The companion proposed rule was also published in the Federal Register on November 7, 2018 (83 FR 55643). The direct final rule will become effective on January 22, 2019, unless significant adverse comments are received.

On November 9, the NRC published a proposed rule in the Federal Register (83 FR 56156) proposing to amend its regulations to incorporate by reference the 2015 and 2017 Editions of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code and the 2015 and 2017 Editions of the ASME Operation and Maintenance of Nuclear Power Plants , Division 1: OM: Section 1ST, respectively, for nuclear power plants.
