SUBJECT:

U.S. NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION REVIEW OF EXPORT LICENSE APPLICATION XR177

Dear Ms. Fischer:

I am writing to update you on the status of your export license application (XR177). The application is currently under review by the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), for the export of nuclear reactor components to China. Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations (10 CFR) 110.40(d), states in part, if the Commission has not completed action on a license application within 60 days after receipt of the Executive Branch (EB) judgement, the NRC is required to inform the applicant in writing of the reason for the delay. The NRC received the initial EB judgment on November 27, 2017, however additional time is needed for NRC staff and management to complete its review of the export license application and supporting documents prior to its submission to the Commission for ultimate approval. You may contact Andrea Jones, the licensing officer assigned to your case, at any time.Ms. Jones can be reached at (301) 287-9072 or Andrea.
