UNITED STATES NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION WASHINGTON , D.C. 20555--0001 October 10, 2018 Ms. Becky G. Eddy U.S. Department of Energy National Nuclear Security Administration Y-12 National Security Complex 301 Bear Creek Road Oak Ridge, TN 37831
Dear Ms. Eddy:
The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), is returning without further action, export license application XCOM1324, submitted on September 19, 2018. The application requests the export of 226 meters of zircalloy-4 tubing, for use in the Slowpoke-2 Research Reactor located at the Royal Military College of Canada. In accordance with Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations, Part 110.26, because the requested material is a minor component of U.S. origin, described in paragraphs (5) through (11) of Appendix A, and is to be used in a research reactor located within a country listed in paragraph (b) of section 110.26, the equipment qualifies for export under a general license. Therefore, there is no need for a specific license. If you have additional questions regarding this application or letter, please contact me at (301) 287-9072.
