TheISE received (Reference 9 in Section 7) included Request for Additional Information (RAI).Reference 10 instructs that responses to the RAI do not need to be formally submitted on thedocket but instead to place the response in the BSEP ePortal. Following the NRC Audit, twoRAI's remain open. Those items are:NRC Audit Open RAI's I Status1. SFPI RAI.10Please provide the following:a) A description of the capability and provisions theproposed level sensing equipment will have to enableperiodic testing and calibration, including how thiscapability enables the equipment to be tested in-situ.b) A description of how such testing and calibration willenable the conduct of regular channel checks of eachindependent channel against the other, and against anyother permanently-installed SFP level instrumentation.c) A description of how functional checks will beperformed, and the frequency at which they will beconducted. Describe how calibration tests will beperformed, and the frequency at which they will beconducted. Provide a discussion as to how thesesurveillances will be incorporated into the plantsurveillance program.d) A description of what preventive maintenance tasksare required to be performed during normal operation, and the planned maximum surveillance interval that isnecessary to ensure that the channels are fullyconditioned to accurately and reliably perform theirfunctions when needed.(This information was previously requested as RAI-8 inNRC letter dated May 23, 2013)Post response to BSEPePortal by 3/6/2015.Page 3 of 5 FOURTH SIX-MONTH STATUS REPORT (ORDER NUMBER EA-12-051)NRC Audit Open RAI'sStatus2. SFPI RAI.13Please provide the following:a) Further information describing the maintenance andtesting program the licensee will establish andimplement to ensure that regular testing and calibrationis performed and verified by inspection and audit todemonstrate conformance with design and systemreadiness requirements. Include a description of yourplans for ensuring that necessary channel checks, functional tests, periodic calibration, and maintenancewill be conducted for the level measurement system andits supporting equipment.b) A description of how the guidance in NEI12-02section 4.3 regarding compensatory actions for one orboth non-functioning channels will be addressed.c) A description of what compensatory actions areplanned in the event that one of the non-functioninginstrument channels cannot be restored to functionalstatus within 90 days.(This information was previously requested as RAI-1 1 inNRC letter dated May 23, 2013)Post response to BSEPePortal by 3/6/2015.Page 4 of 5 FOURTH SIX-MONTH STATUS REPORT (ORDER NUMBER EA-12-051)7 ReferencesThe following references support the updates to the Overall Integrated Plan described in thisenclosure.1.
