Pursuant to 10 CFR 50.82(a)(1)(i),
Entergy Nuclear Operations, Inc. (Entergy) herebycertifies to the NRC that it has decided to permanently cease power operations at theVermont Yankee Nuclear Power Station (VY). VY will continue to operate until the end ofthe current operating cycle, which is expected to occur in the fourth quarter of 2014. Amore specific date cannot be provided at this time in order to allow for fuel coastdown variables.
Entergy will submit a supplement to this letter certifying the date on whichoperations have ceased, or will cease, in accordance with 10CFR50.82(a)(1)(i) and1 OCFR50.4(b)(8).
