(1) Letter from D. M. Gullett (Exelon Generation Company, LLC) to U.S. NRC, "License Amendment Request for the use of an Auxiliary Feedwater Cross-tie Between Units," dated January 31, 2012 (2) Letter from D. M. Gullett (Exelon Generation Company, LLC) to U. S. NRC, "Response to Request for Additional Information Regarding the Use of an Auxiliary Feedwater Cross-tie Between Units," dated February 1, 2013 In the Reference 1 submittal, Exelon Generation Company (EGC), LLC, requested amendments to Facility Operating License Nos. NPF-72 and NPF-77 for Braidwood Station, Units 1 and 2, and Facility Operating License Nos. NPF-37 and NPF-66 for Byron Station, Units 1 and 2. This amendment request proposed to revise the Updated Final Safety Analysis Report (UFSAR) and the Technical Specifications (TS} 3.7.5, "AF System" Bases describing the design and shared operation of the cross-tie piping between the discharges of the Unit 1 and Unit 2 Train "A" motordriven Auxiliary Feedwater (AF) pumps. Based on a teleconference between Scot Greenlee (EGC) et al., and Jennifer Uhle (NRC) et al., on May 29, 2015, EGC hereby withdraws the Reference 1 amendment request. As discussed, EGC intends to submit a new amendment request that reflects the AF cross-tie function in the TS. Prior to this submittal EGC will request a pre-submittal meeting with the NRC to address any potential questions with this revised approach prior to submittal. EGC understands the NRC will appropriately prioritize the new submittal to ensure timely review of the AF cross-tie amendment request, particularly to best leverage the resources utilized to date. In accordance with 10 CFR 50.91, "Notice for public comment; State consultation," paragraph (b), EGC is notifying the State of Illinois of this withdrawal by transmitting a copy of this letter and its attachment to the designated State Official.
