Enclosure 1 ofReference 1 requested that licensees provide interim evaluations and actions taken or plannedto address the higher seismic hazard relative to the design basis, as appropriate, prior tocompletion of the risk evaluation.
Reference 2 provided the Expedited Seismic Evaluation Process (ESEP) Report for MNS Units 1 and 2.On September 15, 2015, an audit of the ESEP interim evaluations associated with thereevaluated seismic hazard for Catawba, McGuire and Oconee was held in Rockville, Maryland.
During the audit, the NRC requested that Duke Energy supplement the December 17, 2014,submittal (Reference
: 2) by revising Action #3 in Section 8.4, Table 8-1 of the ESEP reportdescribed as "Submit a letter to the NRC confirming implementation of the modifications associated with items 1 and 2 within 60 days following completion of ESEP activities for items 1and 2" from a planned action to a regulatory commitment.
This letter establishes Action #3 in Section 8.4, Table 8-1 of the ESEP Report as a newregulatory commitment.
