Davis-Besse Nuclear Power Station, Unit No. 1 Docket No. 50-346, License No. NPF-3 5501 North State Route 2 Oak Harbor, Ohio 43449 419-321-7676 Fax: 419-321-7582 Correction of Fire Probabilistic Risk Analysis (PRA) Results (CAC No. MF7190) By letter dated December 16, 2015 (Accession No. ML 15350A314), as supplemented by letter dated March 7, 2016 (Accession No. ML 16067A195), FirstEnergy Nuclear Operating Company (FENOC) submitted a license amendment request (LAR) to change the Davis-Besse Nuclear Power Station, Unit No. 1 (DBNPS), fire protection program to one based on the National Fire Protection Association Standard 805, "Performance-Based Standard for Fire Protection for Light Water Reactor Electric Generating Plants (2001 Edition)." The proposed LAR contains errors in Table W-3, Davis-Besse Fire Compartment Risk Summary, of the Enclosure to the December 16, 2015 letter. The PRA model has been corrected, and the updated results for the impacted fire compartments and plant total are in the attachment.
This issue has been entered into the FENOC Corrective Action Program. The detailed fire model and multi-compartment analysis documentation will be updated later. Furthermore, the attachment also contains a discussion of this error on the information provided to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRG) in FENOC letter dated March 17, 2016 (Accession Nos. ML 16077A083 and ML 16077A084).
FENOC requests that the attachment, which contains security-related information, be withheld from public disclosure in accordance with 10 CFR 2.390.
