In response to your request of March 22, 2004, this letter forwards information on materialsperformance in the Naval Reactors (NR) program. The NR program has published extensive information on reactor plant and secondary plantmaterials performance in scientific literature where security classification requirements permit. | |||
These publications help share program experience with the technical community. Attachment 1 is a bibliography of NR program prime contractor publications which cover many of the topics about which you requested information. Attachment 2 is a cross reference of your questions against the NR program publications.Naval plants operate at different temperatures and pressures than most commercial plants andthe flow velocities and chemistry conditions may also be different. The applicability of information in the cited NR program publications to commercial plants must be carefully considered in view of these differences.
