Gentlemen:
On December 17, 1985, in our letter logged TXX-4650, we notified you of a deficiency involving the seismic gap between Seismic Category I buildings which we deemed to be reportable under the provisions of 10CFR50.55(e). Our letter logged TXX-6435, dated May 13, 1987, identified this issue as one for which the schedule for implementation of corrective actions had not been established. This report is submitted to provide the current schedule for implementation of corrective actions.
In our report TXX-4650, we noted that corrective actions for this issue would include debris removal and actual widening of the gap. Specific deviations would be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
Corrective actions for Unit 1 are currently scheduled for completion by October 1, 1988, and corrective actions for Unit 2 are currently scheduled for completion by January 1,1990.
