In our {{letter dated|date=November 23, 1983|text=November 23, 1983 letter}}, SNRC-986, the Long Island Lighting Company requested the construction completion date for the Shoreham Nuclear Power Station be extended from December 31, 1983 to December 31, 1984.
The Shoreham Nuclear Power Station is physically complete. How-ever, litigation on the Transamerica DeLaval Inc. Emergency Diesel Generator is still in progress. A decision is not expected until early in 1985.
In addition, while the Commission has approved a license for Phase I and Phase II low power testing, that license will not be issued before November 30, 1984.
Therefore, in order to ensure that the carrent construction permit does not expire prematurely, we request that our {{letter dated|date=November 23, 1983|text=November 23, 1983 letter}} (SNRC-986) be revised such that the prmposed December 31, 1984 expiration date is changed to March 30, 1985.
This request is being filed at this time in order to ensure its timely receipt by the NRC in accordance with 10CFR70.33. Since this request entails merely a minor modification to a previous request which h_as not yet been formally acted upon, no amendment fee is enclosed.
