ENRICHED URANIUM) (PETITION SEEKING LEAVE TO INTERVENE AND REQUEST FOR HEARING)
This matter involves the application of the U.S. Department of Energy and National Nuclear Security Administration to export up to 130 kg of highly enriched uranium to Framatomes facility in Romans-sur-Isre, France, where the uranium will be fabricated into fuel and then transferred to the Institut Laue-Langevin for use in its High-Flux Reactor. The Commission approved a Memorandum and Order responding to a request for hearing and petition to intervene filed by Dr. Alan J. Kuperman on the export license application. The Memorandum and Order denies Dr. Kupermans hearing request.
(Subsequently, on September 11, 2023, the Secretary signed the Memorandum and Order.)
