ATTACHMENT The following provides a description of the proposed temperature monitoring system for the RBS UHS.
The UHS basin temperature monitoring system will consist of two(2) microprocessors.           One microprocessor will have the capability of accepting inputs from eight          (8) Resistance Temperature Detectors                                          j (RTDs)   arranged to measure the basin temperature at various locations and depths (see attached figure). These RTDs will provide
                                                                           " narrow range" averaged temperatures within the ranges 75'F to 85'F.
The second microprocessor will accept signals from four(4) RTDs arranged at various locations and depths of the basin to measure the averaged " wide range" temperatures of 0*F to 100*F.
Both microprocessors will be mounted locally and provided with indication of the basin average              temperature. In   addition, indication will be provided in the Main Control Room for UHS basin average temperature.
The instruments provided will be non-Class IE and of an acceptable commercial grade. The raceway system and equipment supports will be
,                                                                          seismically qualified to prevent damage to the Category I UHS basin structure.
