An application was submitted on June 2, 1994 (letter PY-CEI/NRR-1794L),
for an amendment to the Perry Nuclear Power Plant (PNPP) Operating License, Number NPF-58. The proposed changes reflected the pending merger of the Toledo Edison Company (TE) into the Cleveland Electric Illuminating Company (CEI). Supplemental information regarding the initial application has been submitted in letters dated July 29, 1994 (PY-CEI/NRR-1832L), November 10, 1994 (PY-CEI/NRP-1883L), April 24, 1995 (PY-CEI/NRR-1943L), September 20, 1995 (PY-CEI/NRR-1985L), and September 28, 1995 (PY-CEI/NRR-1987L).
The {{letter dated|date=September 20, 1995|text=September 20, 1995 letter}} noted that although the merger requires approval of regulatory agencies in addition to the NRC, receipt of such approvals was believed to be imminent. Accordingly, it was requested
* that the NRC consent to the license transfer pursuant to 10 CFR 50.80 and approve the license amendment on or before October 30, 1995. As discussed during recent conversations with the NRC Staff, acceptance of the merger by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission is no longer expected to occur within the previously anticipated time frame.
Therefore, the above mentioned NRC actions are no longer needed on or before October 30, 1995. A revised schedule i s not currently available.
CEI will keep the NRC Project Manager for PNPP informed of further developments.
