RANCHO SECO PURCHASE BIDS The' licensee announced on-June 20, 1989 that they would be open to offers to purchase Rancho Seco until June 30, 1989. As of 4:00 pm (PDT) on June 30, 1989, the end of the defined bid period, bids had been received from the following five companies:
        - Quedrex Corp.; Sacramento Delta Power Corp., a subsidiary of Portland General Exchange,-
Inc.; CMS Energy Corp.; Consolidated Power Company; and the Methacoal Corp. Of the five bidders, only the Quadrex Corp. proposes to operate the facility as a nuclear plant.
The other bidders propose to convert the plant to a natural gas or coal fired unit.
Additionally, General Atomics of San Diego has expressed interest and requested a 30 day extension period to develop a bid. The licensee is evaluating the bids and int 2nds to complete their evaluation by the end of July.
