PRESS RELEASE ON RESTART OF THE UNIT On June 11,1997, the licensee issued a press release that stated that the current anticipated restart date for Waterford 3 will be mid-July. The unplanned extension of the refueling outage, originally scheduled to end the middle of next week, was a result of an internal f ault in a startup transformer and the difficulties encountered by the licensee in obtaining a replacement transformer.
The state of Louisiana has been informed.
Region IV received notification of this occurrence by telephone from the SRI at 9:30 a.m.
(CDT) on June 11,1997. Region IV has informed the OEDO, NRR, and PA.
This information has been discussed with the licensee and is current as of 11 a.m. (CDT) on June 11,1997.
