BOATING ACCIDENT WITH FATALITIES ON WOLF CREEK LAKE Two fishermen from Topeka died and one is missing following the capsizing of their boat on Wolf Creek Lake on December 15,1996. The lake is closed to the public on December 16 as the search for the third victim continues. The 5090-acre lake is located in the owner controlled area outside the protected area and was opened for public fishing on October 1,

The state of Kansas has been informed.
Region IV received notification of this occurrence by telephone from the Headquarters Operations Officer on Docember 15,1996. Region IV has informed the EDO's office, NRR, and PA.
The information herein has been discussed with the licensee and is current as of 9 a.m. on December 16. The licensee and the Coffey County Sheriff's Office issued a joint press release.
