INJURY UPDATE - CONSTRUCTION ACCIDENT RESULTING IN FATALITY At approximately 9:00 A.M. (CDT), on Friday, August 29, 1986, a beam, being lowered through an equipment hatch in the Unit 2 containment building, fell. The beam struck a worker (pipefitter) causing apparent irassive trauma to the head.
The injured workman was removed by ambulance and subsequently air evacuated to a Houston hospital where he subsequently died at approximately 9:00 P.M. that evening.     .
The licensee issued a press release.
