30-DAY OUTAGE TO REPAIR COOLING TOWER PUMPS Tha reactor was manually tripped from about 43 percent power at 5:20 p.m. (EDT),
July 11, 1982, when an operator found smoke emanating from the "B" cooling tower pump motor. The "A" cooling tower pump had been taken out of service and plant power reduced en July 10 because of bearing problems. Repairs to the two pumps are expected to take at least 30 days.
Naither the licensee nor Region III      (Chicago) plans to issue a press release at this tima.
Tha State of Michigan will be notified.
Rtgion III and the Headquarters Duty Officer were notified of the reactor shutdown on July 11, 1982. This information is current as of 2 p.m. (CDT) July 12, 1982.
