INADVERTENT INITIATION OF EVACUATION SIRENS Wake County personnel were performing a silent test of the evacuation alarm sirens on December 21 when they apparently caused an unplanned initiation of the sirens. Numerous calls were received from individuals living within the 10-mile emergency planning zone.
The licensee notified state and local officials and responded to media interest.
