UNEXPECTED REACTOR DEPRESSURIZATION AND C00LDOWN -- UPDATE

This PN updates PNO-II-86.45,' issued on June 27, and PNO-II-86-45A, issued on July 1.                                 -- .
Th2 Augmented Inspection Team which was sent to Catawba on June 28 left the site on July-2 after completing its review.                 -- -
Duke's corrective actions, documented in a confinnation-of-action letter on June 30 are being monitored by NRC resident inspectors. With NRC concurrence, the licensee took the unit to Mode 2 (less than five percent power) yesterday. - It is-now at six percent power.                              -
R:sident and region-based inspectors are continuing to follow the scheduled start-up j    testing, i
