==SUBJECT:==
POSSIBLE OVEREXPOSURE OF TWO INDIVIDUALS Region II is dispatching an inspector to Fort Knox, Kentucky, to follow up a report by the Army of a possible overexposure to two nuclear medicine technologists at Ireland Army Community Hospital. Film badges apparently worn by these two individuals from February 16 to March 15 of this year showed doses of 8.9 rems and 3.4 rems respectively. Ring thermo-luminescent dosimeters showed doses of 4.3 rems and 2.6 rems.
Preliminary information indicated that these readings were due to X-ray exposure, but further analysis by the hospital's consulting laboratory showed that one badge appeared to have two single exposures and the other one exposure which could have been caused by either X-ray or by a radioisotope like technetium-99m.           Army authorities are continuing to investigate.
The Army and Region II are prepared to respond to media inquiries.
This Comonwealth of Kentucky has been informed.
