ACTIONS Ih RESPONSE TO HURRICANE GLORIA The National Weather Service reported as of 10:00 a.m. (EST) today that the storm was located at latitude 39.2 degrees north and longitude 74.0 degrees west. The hurricane continues to move at 5 miles per hour toward the north-northeast. Maximor. sustained wind speeds are near 120 miles per hour.
R:gion !! maintained a small staff in the Incident Response Center throughout the night to nonitor the storm's ef fects on licensee f acilities.            The Incident Response Center was s: cured at 9:00 a n.
itaximum sustained winds at Brunswick were approximately 35-40 mph with gusts to 45 frph. The licensee secured the TSC at approximately 2:30 a.m. on Septerrber 27 The declaration of an Unusual Event was terminated at 6:15 a.m. on September 26, 1965. Backup telephone lines and the HF radio were used throughout the night. There was no danage at the site. Unit I continues in a refueling shutdown.          Unit ? was shutdown in response to the hurricane and will remain shutdown for approximately two weeks for valve repair in the low prenure safety injection system (LPSI).
Maximum sustained winds at Surry were approximately 40 mpn with gusts to 55 mph. The primary rreteorological tower was lost at 5:45 a.m. today. Continued netcorological service was provided by the onsite backup facility.           Unit I was shut dnwn in response to the hurr< cane. Unit 2 power was reduced to 30I.           The licensee plans to restart Unit I at approximately 11:00 a.m.
General Electric's nuclear f uel manuf acturing plant resured normal operations this morning.
This facility incurred no darage from the hurricane.
