CONNECTICUT YANKEE SENIOR MANAGEMENT RESTRUCTURING The licensee announced a senior management restructuring on December 3, 1997. The restructuring included naming a new Chairman / President / Chief Executive Officer, a new Chief Financial Officer, and a promotion of the Director of Site Operations.
The new Chairman / President / Chief Executive Officer (CEO) is Don K.                 Davis, who is also the Chairman and CEO of Yankee Atomic Electric Company (YAEC). The new Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is Thomas W. Bennet, Jr.,
who is also Vice President, Treasurer and CFO of YAEC. Both senior managers will continue to hold their current positions and renponsibilities at YAEC in addition to their new positions, and will bring significant decommissioning experience from Yankee Rowe to Connecticut Yankee.
Russel Mellor was promoted from Connecticut Yankee (CY) Director of Operations to the position of Vice President, CY Operations and Decommissioning. The licensee stated that the changes were designed to prepare CY for the start of physical decommissioning of the plant.
The licensee issued a press release on December 3, 1997, and there were several news articles. The State of Connecticut has been notified and the Division of Nuclear Materials Safety in Region I is prepared to respond to inquirien.
