SUSPECTED EMPLOYEE CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE USE Over the past weekend, the licensee suspended (pending their investigation) site access of two personnel, a Senior Reactor Operator (SRO) and a shift clerk. This occurred as a result of. third party allegations related to drug use. Both individuals gave urine,

samples which are now at a laboratory for analysis. The licensee informed the NRC d Senior Resident Inspector on 9/6, but'did not indicate that one individual was an SRO.
The allegation has not been substantiated at this time. NRC Region I is following licensee actions on this matter.

Media interest in this event began 9/11. The licensee is responding to media inquiries, but was not planning to reveal job positions of the individuals until sample analyses are complete. However, much of this information already appears to be in the media.
The State of New Jersey has been informed.
