In a {{letter dated|date=September 1, 1999|text=letter dated September 1,1999}}, NG-99-1216, the DAEC requested a waiver for Mr.
                     .Merle R. Pettengill to participate in the upcoming Senior Operator license examination, prior to completion of the five significant control manipulations required by 10 CFR 55.31(a)(5).
At that time, we committed to Mr. Pettengill's re-performance of the manipulations, but we did not believe they would be completed before the September 20th examination date. Due to unplanned power reductions in the plant, Mr. Pettengill has been able to complete all five manipulations. Therefore, there is no longer a need for any waiver associated with Mr.
Pettengill's Senior Operator License application. Enclosed is a new certified NRC Fonn 398 which documents the completed significant control manipulations and fulfills our previous               l g~
commitment regarding this matter.
: There are no new commitments made in this letter.
