Confirmatory Issue No. 4, as listed in Supplement No. 2 to the CESSAR SER (NUREG-0852), required additional information in the Emergency Operating Procedure Guidelines (CEN-152) for the use of Inadequate Core Cooling Instrumentation. Additional information was subsequently provided in Rev. 2 of CEN-152 earlier this year. Or, August 29, 1984, the Combustion Engineering Owners Group (CE0G) Operations Subcommittee met with the NRC Staff to discuss the revision and identify any additional information needed by the Staff for its review. The NRC's summary of that meeting (provided by the Reference) lists the additional information needed by the Staff.          On behalf of the CE0G, C-E is now preparing the raquested information, which is expected to be submitted to the NRC by December of 1984 and subsequently incorporated into CEN-152.
In a September 18, 1984 meeting on the CESSAR-F docket, the NRC reviewer agreed that C-E's commitment to provide the above information would be sufficient to close out this confirmatory issue on the CESSAR-F docket. Since we are, by this letter, committing to provide the requested information, we believe that the confirmatory issue can now be closed.
