I VOOTLE ELECTRIC OENERATING PLANT - UNITS 1 & 2 1991 ANNUAL REPORT PART I DCEEED.U.EllDN The Vogtle Electric Generating Plant Units 1 and 2 are powered by pressurized water reactors, each rated at 3411 megawatts thermal.           It is located on the Savannah River in Burke County Georgia, at a site *4 miles southeast of Augusta.
The Unit 1 operating license was initially rei eived on January
* 16, 1987 and Commercial Operation started on May 31, 1987.           Unit 1 is in its fourth fuel cycle. Unit 2 received its initial operating license on February 9.-1989, and began commercial operation on May 19, 1989.        Urit 2 is operating in its second iuol cycle.

As required by Technical specifications section 3.7.9, leak tests were performed on scaled sources with activity greater than 100 microcuries of beta and/or gamma, or 5 microcuries of alpha radiation. The test resulto revealed activities lose than 0.005 microcuries of remove,ble contamination.
