CONTAINMENT HYDR 0 GEN MONITORS_
Gentlemen:
By letters dated November 7,1988 (VL-76) and December 1,1988 (ELV-00041),
Georgia Power Company-(GPC) proposed to revise the Vogtle Unit 1 Tecnnical Specifications, Appendix A to Operating License nPF-68. Since the time of those submittals, Operating License NPF-68 has been amended t. replace the Unit 1 Technical Specifications with combined Unit 1 and Unit .: Technical Specifications. GPC hereby revises the referenced amendment requ st such that it applies to the combined Unit 1 and Unit 2 Technical Specifications, Appendix A to Operating Licenses NPF-68 and NPF-81.
The preposed amendment revises Specification 3.3.3.6, " Accident Monitoring Instrumentation", by extending the time limit for restoring an inonerable containment hydrogen monitor to operable status. The basis for tie change applies equally to Unit 1 and Unit 2. We have reviewed our 10 CFR 50.92 evaluation and have determined that it is valid for both Unit 1 and Unit 2 and that no significant hazards considerations would be involved. For these reascns, GPC requests that the proposed amendment be approved for the Unit 1 i                         and Unit 2 Technical Specifications. We have enclosed proposed Unit 1 and Unit 2 Technical Specification pages to replace the Unit 1 pages contained in our earlier submittals.
