Pursuant to 10 CFR 50.55a(g)(4)(iv), Entergy Operations, Inc. (Entergy) requests permission to use IWA-2232 of the 1995 Edition, 1996 Addenda of ASME Section Xl for performing ultrasonic (UT) examinations at Arkansas Nuclear One - Units 1 (ANO-1) and 2 (ANO-2),
Grand Gulf Nuclear Station (GGNS), River Bend Station (RBS), and Waterford Steam Electric Station, Unit 3 (Waterford 3). This request is provided in the enclosure to this letter. The NRC has approved this edition and addenda of Section Xl as documented in 10 CFR 50.55a(b)(2) with no limitations or modifications.
Entergy is providing this request in accordance with NRC Regulatory Issue Summary 2004-16, Use of Later Editions and Addenda to ASME Code Section XI for Repair/Replacement Activities.

: 1. ASME Code Components Affected ASME Section XI Examination Category Items as identified in Tables 1 through 5 for Arkansas Nuclear One, Unit 1 (ANO-1) and Unit 2 (ANO-2), Grand Gulf Nuclear Station (GGNS), River Bend Station (RBS), and Waterford Steam Electric Station, Unit 3 (Waterford 3).

: 3. Proposed Subsequent Code Edition and Addenda (or Portion)
In accordance with 10 CFR 50.55a(g)(6)(ii)(C), Entergy Operations, Inc. (Entergy) implemented the requirements of Appendix Vil to Section XI, 1995 Edition with the 1996 Addenda. Pursuant to 10 CFR 50.55a(g)(4)(iv), Entergy requests permission to use IWA-2232 of the 1995 Edition with 1996 Addenda of ASME Section XI for ultrasonic (UT) examinations performed for the items identified in Tables 1 through 5. These items and associated UT exams are not covered under Appendix Vil.
The NRC approved the use of the 1995 Edition, 1996 Addenda with no limitations and modifications, as documented in 10 CFR 50.55a(b)(2).

: 4. Related Requirements By adopting IWA-2232, all related requirements for performing UT are also adopted including the qualification and certification of personnel to the 1995 Edition, 1996 Addenda. Selecting and scheduling locations for performing UT and evaluating associated UT results will continue to be conducted in accordance with the 1992 Edition with portions of the 1993 Addenda as identified in each site's ISI Program.
: 5. Duration of ProDosed Request The duration of this request will be from approval by the NRC staff until the beginning of the next interval for each facility, as identified in Section 2, above.
