By {{letter dated|date=May 19, 1995|text=letter dated May 19,1995}} (Serial: BSEP 95-0187), Carolina Power & Light Company (CP&L) requested relief from the requirements of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) Code, Section XI in order to perform two temporary non-Code repairs to se.wice water system piping for the Brunswick Steam Electric Plant, Unit No. 2. The          )
request applied to a through-wallleak on line 2-SW-117-6-157 (vital header supply from       I the service water system nuclear header) and line 2-SW-110-6-157 (vital header supply from the service water system conventional header).
Repair of the line 2-SW-117-6-157 through-wall leak in accordance with the ASME Code,        ,
Section XI, IWA/D-4000 has been accomplished by replacing the existing carbon steel          j cement lined elbow and straight run of pipe with copper nickel material. The repair of the line 2-SW-110-6-157 through-wall leak in accordance with the ASME Code, Section XI,
    - lWA/D-4000 has been accomplished by replacing the existing carbon steel cement lined        j elbow with like material. These repairs were completed during the recent Unit 2 refueling    I outage (8212R1), and these repairs are documented on the attached Form NIS-2 Owner's Report For Repairs or Replacements.
