I Northeast Nuclear Energy Company (NNECO), in r, {{letter dated|date=February 14, 1997|text=letter dated February 14, 1997}}, provided the NRC Staff with the schedule for the completion of Millstone Unit No.3                                                                                         :'
Group 1 and Group 2 systems' System Specific Assessment (SSAs). Additionally, NNECO committed to keep the NRC informed on our progress.
l                                                The purpose of this letter is to update the information contained in our {{letter dated|date=February 14, 1997|text=February 14, 1997 letter}}. The current schedule has one-half of the Group 1 systems' SSAs planned for completion in May 1997, and the completion of the review of these SSAs by our Nuclear Oversight Organization by May 26,1997. The additional time is required due                                                                                          l i                                                 to administrative delays in the preparation of the matrices which make up the SSA                                                                                           l framework. The current schedule indicates that the Independent Corrective Action l-                                                                                                                                                                                                                            !
Verification Program will begin on May 27, 1997. Although our present schedule reflects the remaining Group 1 and Group 2 systems' SSAs are scheduled to be completed by mid-July 1997, the lessons leamed from the completion of the initial SSAs will be evaluated and the schedule revised if required.                                                                                                               ;
l We are continuing to evaluate the impact of items identified during discovery on our                                                                                       )
schedule and will continue to provide periodic updates on our progress.
